A Dark Prophecy (Part 2)
(In order, Teal, Flame, and Crystal)
Flickerpaw awoke from her sleep to the sound of wailing. She pricked up her ears and padded out of her den, silent as a shadow. The wailing seemed to come from one side of the beach. She padded towards the right side and gasped. Three cats were spread out and soaking on the beach. A snow white she-cat, a sturdy orange tom, and a brown tabby tom were flopped down, half in and half out of the water. "Onyxstar! Onyxstar!", Flickerpaw yelled, hurtling up the path...
~~~~~~~~~
"Will they survive?"
"Yes. They are strong, though I was not sure for a while there." Petalsoul and Onyxstar were sitting outside the medicine cat's den, watching the three cats inside the den. "Where did they come from?" Onyxstar asked. "Did StarClan give you a sign?"
"No," said Petalsoul, looking worried. "I would think they would have..." Inside, she was doubting herself. Has Starclan cut off all connection with me because of my love for Onyxstar? she wondered, but didn't say anything. The two cats were interrupted in their musings by a weak moan from inside the cave. Petalsoul rushed into the den, followed closely by Onyxstar.
The white she-cat had opened her eyes. They were a startlingly beautiful light blue, rimmed with a darker shade of blue. "Where am I?", she asked groggily.
"You are in CliffClan," Onyxstar said kindly. "We found you three on the beach."
"Three?", the she-cat said, then sighed with relief. "I am Crystal. These are my brothers, Flame and Teal."
"What?" said the ginger tom, who had just opened his eyes. "Who are these cats, Crystal?"
"I am Onyxstar, leader of CliffClan. This is Petalsoul, our medicine cat."
Flame coughed, spat water, and said, "I'm Flame and this is-"
"It's okay I told them that already!" Crystal said. The brown tabby tom, Teal, had opened his teal-colored eyes and was watching the whole scene.
"Would you mind telling us where you came from?" Petalsoul asked.
"Oh, well, I guess we'll begin at the beginning...", Crystal said.
We were born to rouge parents. We never met our father, but our mother raised and trained us well. One day we encountered two cats, the like of which we had never seen before. One of them, the tom, had huge yellow-silver eyes the exact color of the moon. The she-cat had a beautiful silver pelt with dark stripes. We talked to them for a while. The whole time they kept looking us up and down like they were sizing up a bird.
We learned that their names were Moon, the tom, and Shimmer, the she-cat. At one point, I saw Shimmer lean over and whisper something to Moon. Having good ears, I picked up her words. She said, 'They could be the ones, if they were trained.'
Shortly after, Moon and Shimmer left.
They came back though. Right to where we were camped. We had no idea where they had gotten our location from but they said they had their resources.
They had an arguement with our mother. They said that they wanted to recruit us for a great purpose. Our mother didn't want to give us up. Moon said she would regret her desicion. Two days later, we found her dead at the bottom of a river. It looked like she had fallen and broken her neck.
Shimmer and Moon came back. They said they were sorry, and did we want somewhere to stay now that our mom was dead? We accepted. It was the worst decision of our lives. They took us to a clan that they called VainClan.
Crystal stopped, her eyes filled with tears. "I-can we...can we talk about this tomorrow? I'm really tired."
"Very well," said Onyxstar. He and Petalsoul slipped quietly out of the den.
Silvermoon looked at the three cats in the medicine cat's den. "I heard that their names are Teal, Flame and Crystal," she thought. "VainClan seems like an evil clan to me. Hmmm..."
ReplyDeleteStripeheart came to stand next to Silvermoon. "They have to be an evil clan," he said.
ReplyDelete"What normal clan would kill cats to recruit others when they can have all of them? And I don't like the part about them being 'the ones'. What's that all about?!"
~Stripeheart
Swiftclaw walked over to Sivlerdusk, "They're odd." He muttered. Sivlerdusk shook his head, "They're tired." He said to him. Petalsoul thought about her duties with worry. 'Does Starclan really believe I am not worthy of being a Medicine cat anymore?' She thought her tail tip flicking.
ReplyDeleteSilvermoon thought about what Stripeheart said. It was true. "If VainClan find those three here, what will they do?"
ReplyDelete~Silvermoon
(Hmmm, I was planning to have Onyxstar fall for a VainClan turned good warrior. But, I know Onyxstar's brother Stripeheart is looking for a mate as well ;) )
ReplyDeleteStripeheart shook his head from side to side. "I have no idea. Come and try to stamp us out, probably," he answered. "But these three are only apprentices. What would VainClan want with them?"
~Stripeheart
(Petalsoul wound die of depression if Onyxstar fell in love with anyone! lol) Petalsoul watched her clan mates with worry. Would they accept these new strangers. Even if they did, would they become loyal warriors? She flicked her gaze to Onyxstar to see his reaction to the clan.
ReplyDelete"I doubt they will be loyal forever. Aren't they the ones in the prophecy?" Silvermoon murmured to herself.
ReplyDeleteSilvermoon turned her head a little and noticed Fernflame looking at Stripeheart with adoring eyes. She widened her eyes upon seeing that. Then, she glanced at Stripeheart, who seemed to be thinking hard. "Oh well. Perhaps I ould talk to them and learn more," she thought. "As for what Fernflame said, why did they want those exact ones? Do they have a power or something?"
ReplyDeleteShe padded closer to the den, peeking inside. "They seem very normal. But who knows?"
"What do you mean?" Stripeclaw asked. "Like do they have powers? But if they did, why would they pretend to be sick and need our help when we could cast them out anytime?"
ReplyDelete~Stripeclaw
"So maybe they're rouges, and this VainClan is just a lie?" Stripeheart asked.
ReplyDelete~Stripeheart
Swiftclaw rolled his eyes, "We should just get rid of them. Simple." Silverdusk shook his head and looked at Swiftclaw as if he was a mouse-brain. "If they are important, they could be useful to us." He said.
ReplyDelete"And I highly suggest not rushing into battle unprepared. Hopefully these three will give us some insight, but we should wait and see if they are a threat to us, or just to rouges."
ReplyDelete~Stripeheart
Flickerpaw's eyes got wider. "But shouldn't we help them no matter what they are, rouge or Clan cat?", she asked.
