New Members

Onyxstar jumped onto the High Shelf, a slab of rock that stuck out from the cliff a short ways above the nursery and medicine cat's den. "Let all cats gather around the High Ledge!", he called. Cats scrambled up from the warrior's and apprentice's den, and Petalsoul and Herbpaw emerged from the medicine cat's den.

"Cats of CliffClan! I am proud to announce that we are growing larger. We have eleven new members." There was a hearty cheer from the crowd. "Our warriors are Crystalshine, Swiftclaw, Silverdusk, Fernflame, who will be our deputy, and Foxthroat. We are also blessed with a talented medicine cat, Petalsoul."

Down below the High Ledge, Petalsoul licked her paws awkwardly, trying to act as if praise from Onyxstar was no more than praise from her leader. Onyxstar continued, "And we also have an apprentice willing to train with her--Herbpaw! Our other warrior apprentices are Flickerpaw, Skypaw, Beautifulpaw, and Tabbypaw. These apprentices are in need of mentors, and they will be as follows:

Flickerpaw--> Swiftclaw

Skypaw--> Crystalshine

Beautifulpaw--> Foxthroat

Tabbypaw--> Stripeheart

We also have Stargaze, a queen, and her kits, Wildkit, Sunkit, and Lilykit. Her mate is Fireblaze."

Onyxstar picked his way down from the High Ledge. "That is all! You are dismissed!"

[I am trying to make a map of the dens & territory, which I will try to get up here ASAP, so this just an overview for now:

The cliff slopes down at about a 35° angle, like so: ➘. The warrior's and apprentice's dens are just on the beach. The beach stretches out about a sixth of a mile at low tide, a sixteenth of a mile at high tide. There is a skinny, winding path from a couple of feet away from the apprentice's den up to a large ledge on which the nursery and elders den are located.

This ledge is surrounded by large stones which prevent kits from falling off. To the left of this ledge there is a broad path leading to the medicine cat's den. To the right there is a path leading almost vertically up to the High Ledge, and then, more safely, up to the leader's den. There is a relatively safe, broad path from the Nursery Ledge to the top of the cliff, which is used by cats going to the Cliff Forest.
